Scratched guitar, NEED HELP

@Heliographos  - Jan. 28, 2009, 5:31 p.m.

Ok, so my Epiphone SG (Cherry wood Finish) has a few long [but not too deep] scratches on the left side of the body, meaning the side opposite the tuning knobs. I'm a bit scared to try Meguiar's, but I don't have a lot of money to get it fixed at a shop. What do I do?

Same thing happened to my Godin LG.

I'd say go to a Cosmo store and get it fixed there. Only costed about 50 dollars for me-

can't say anything else.

I say leave it as it is. It adds character to the guitar, lets people know its been around the block a few times. I have a 750 dollar Godin La Patrie I always kept it nice and clean the problem was I was so obsesed on keeping it clean, I didnt want to play it for too long. I finally broke that habit and now I dont care about the look of it, I care more about my progression. But thats just me.

Hm... Alright, thanks. I'll probably just let it slide.

Nail polish works pretty well sometimes if you can match exactly. Or if it's just in a clear coat, then well, with a clear coat. I've used a fair bit of black nail polish on my j-bass.

But music is about sound, not looks IMO. So it's not a big deal. My Ibanez has a huge dent in it, which I felt kind of sad about, then I realized it made absolutely no difference :-)

Couldn't agree more.

I currently have an Encore Strat copy [only guitar I've ever owned actually, a present of a friend that didn't want the poor thing anymore] that I think looks the dog's danglies due to a few little chips it has. It's only paintwork, and if I was really bothered about it I'd try and get it sorted.

But as it is, I love it anyways :3

Thanks, I have realized that. I mean, I love my Epiphone EC-20 all the same, and it's pretty dinged up.

Also, to the post made on here 3 posts ago; (forgot who it was, I think it was Auriplane) I am in total concurrence, but I need to worry about stage presence, I'm in 2 bands.
