Electric Man Stage Bass Tab Tabbed by Kyle O'Halloran [email protected] / = slide up ~ = vibrato Composed by Manami Matsumae This song is best played on a 6 string bass, but not everyone (including myself) has one. So, I will provide two alternative methods for a 4 string depending on your gear. I have a Stingray with 22 frets, which is exactly how many this song needs on a 4-string. So if you have 22 or more frets, follow that way as it sounds just like the recording. If not, the second section will be at a lower octave than the original recording, but it still sounds amazing. Sometimes I like to play that way despite having the 22 frets. Have fun, it's a great song! 22 FRET BASS - SECTION 1 G----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- D----------------------------4-4-4-4-4-4-4------2-2-2-2-2-2-2------2-2-2------2-2-2- A---------9-9-9-9-9-9-9------------------------------------------------------------- E-10-9-8-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-5----5-5-5-5-5-5-5-4----4-4-4-4-4-4-4-3----3-3-3-2----2-2-2 This above section I play usually on a 22 fret bass because I like to use more of the middle neck since I'll be going extremely high up the heck for section 2. STANDARD BASS - SECTION 1 Play the following instead since section 2 will be using the middle of the neck and you'll want to stay near the nut to give section 2 a more climactic feel. G--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- D--------4-4-4-4-4-4-4------4-4-4-4-4-4-4-----2-2-2-2-2-2-2------2-2-2------2-2-2- A-5-4-3-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-0----0-0-0-0-0-0-0---------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------4---4-4-4-4-4-4-4-3----3-3-3-2----2-2-2 22 FRET BASS - SECTION 2 G----------------16-14~--13-14-13--------------------16-14~ D----------13-16------------------16-14-16-----13-16------- A-----14------------------------------------14------------- E-2/12----------------------------------------------------- G------------22-21------------------19--22-22-22-22--22-22--22 D---------22----------22--19-20--22--------------------------- A-7/17-20----------------------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------------------------- The slide from 7 to 17 isn't rung out at all - just do the slide and mute the string immediately around 17. STANDARD BASS - SECTION 2 G--------------------------------------------- D-----------9-7~--6-7-6--------------9-7~----- A-------6-9-------------9-7-9----6-9---------- E-0/7--------------------------7-------------- G------------------------------------------------------------ D-------------15-14-----------------12--15-15-15-15--15-15-15 A----------15---------15--12-13--15-------------------------- E-0/10--13--------------------------------------------------- The slide from 0 to 10 is slow and you don't let it ring out. You'll catch on from playing along with the song.
