so ive begun playing through V for the first time again in years, and im lookin for some pointers, strategies, or some things to keep in mind as i journey through it.
i just set foot in the ship graveyard. party is as follows:
Butz L.5
*LVL 1 Knight (!Guard, Cover)
Lenna L.5
LVL 1 WHT. Mage (Cure, Scan, Antdt)
*LVL 1 BLU. Mage w/!White (!Observe)
Galuf L.5
*LVL 0 Monk w/!Black (!Kick)
LVL 1 BLK. Mage (Fire, Ice, Bolt)
Faris L.5
*LVL 1 Thief (!Steal, Passages)
for this area, fire and and healing magic should work well, as most of the monsters are undead thus far (assuming a phoenix would kill em outright, but those are rare commodities so far).
some things id like to know are: can the !kick ability be centered on one enemy, and if so, does it do more damage?
probably gonna miss a shitload of stuff in that little under the waves part of this; nigh impossible to see anything!
sorry for bein noobish, but this is the one game in the series (along with III) ive done VERY little with, if barely anything at all, so id like some help without resorting to such things as walkthroughs and all that.
NOTE: Will update with respective progression and stats

I think either's fine, really. The GBA version has a nicer translation IIRC, and if you play in JP it uses basically the same script but with a lot more kanji, so it's more readable. The sound is a little better on the SNES, and you can run faster on GBA, but really, most of the differences don't really matter.
The one thing that people forget about with FF4-6 on SNES is that you can play them with a friend, with two controllers. It sounds hokey, but it's actually a lot of fun playing through an RPG with two players :-) You can't do that on any of the GBA ports.

Oh yeah, that's one of the great things about 9! The return of 2P! :-)
I think those are the only games you can do it in--4, 5, 6, and 9. BTW, correct me if I'm remembering wrong! I'm not about to look it up.
Unfortunately they took 2P out of the English release of 4, so if you want to play that one 2P in English, you'll have to use the fan re-translation. (Tolerable, but not what I'd call "good". Then again, the official translation on SNES is pretty terrible, so...)
I think it's best in FF6, because one player can walk around on the world map, and the other can walk around in towns ^-^

Parody patch? No, I mean the SNES translation patch. You said you were playing it on ZSNES, and there's no official English version for SNES, so that means you're either playing the romhack, or you're playing in Japanese. Yeah?
