I dont mind if it is just more of the same old gameplay, thats entirely what I'm after. Still better than 99% of games even at its worst, and sure beats most things I would be doing in real life.

Sweet zombie jesus am I excited about this game, anyone else on the brink of exploding in anticipation?
I mean just LOOK AT IT:

Pretty much this. Although I dont understand the 6 people doing dungeons thing. Do you mean they have more level designers or are you saying its multiplayer?Anywho, Elder scrolls games are just sort of a fact of life for me anymore. They make a new one and I feel obligated to buy it. I loved morrowind and oblivion but I'm just not sure if this new one can really do anything for me other than being pretty.
However I'm more inclined to think that it's not games that are changing, just me. I find myself incredibly bored with most games and I just dont have the same fervor I did when I was younger.
As for the video games now being 90% garbage, it's sort of like the "music now sucks" argument. Whoever posted that comic about "music peaked when I was at my most emotionally vulnerable" had it right. There was garbage games when our favorite games were released and there are good games released now too.
For me, it's just the critically acclaimed games that are popular now (assassins creed, call of duty, halo, etc) just aren't appealing even if maybe they are objectively good games.
I also think the prospect of a 200 hour game is less appealing. I find the short and sweet games hold my attention better without costing a fortune or overstaying their welcome (i.e. portal 1, most original IPs available on PSN/XBLA/steam)
6 people as in 6 designers for dungeons. There were loads of dungeons that were more or less clones in oblivion since it was only one guy.
And the instance of music sucks now vs games suck now isn't quite the same. I use the term sensationalist to describe the gaming industry now for good reason. Just take a look at that E3 video. Everything's filtered through fake television anchors and bribed reviews. Games are part of a mainstream market now, and this is what tends to happen.

Wow, they actually designed the dungeons in Oblivion? They were pretty much all sameish and boring, so I figured they were procedurally generated like back in the Daggerfall days.

I never would have believed it myself... the dungeons were absolutely horrid.

I played TES1, TES2, and TES4. So now I just have to wait for TES8.
(Actually, I played Battlespire too, but I don't think that counts...)

I'm pretty sure skipping Morrowind is illegal in some countries.
