Hello man . . . so what is this question ?

So yeah .. maybe I will just ask it here because my question includes introduction about me too.

so yeah I want to ask ; how to improve my guitar playing skill , but NO my question is what do I have to do to be able to play even a song on guitar , so yeah , whining starts.

About me : I used to have a private guitar lesson , but it was because my mother forced me to. So I didn't learn anything back then because I didn't have even slightest interest in guitar. And then after wasting some money to pay for the course , I quit.

Everything change when I by a chance stumbled upon a video in youtube , it's a video of someone playing a video game music on guitar and it was very cool , I was like ,wow. I didn't even know that guitar can be played that way , back there. I think all guitar can do is producing strumming sound like that in country music.

After that , I really want to play guitar that way.

I really want to play video game music on guitar (call me whatever , but I only (well not only) like video game music , I don't like that new song from hollywood or local band around here.) And I learned how to read tabs and found gametabs.net from google , this website. And I started to play the song with the tab I found here. But I'm having difficulty even to an easy tab.

So I decided to re-apply to the guitar lesson course , with high hope and new motivation . But after a while I still can't even play a decent music. Let alone playing by ear. Maybe you will say ; it takes long time , but from the first time I took the guitar lesson , it has been 3 years.

So.. yeah , I don't know what's wrong with me , maybe you can diagnose it from my story , and please tell me what can I do to improve , so yeah ...

All I gotta say is practice, and you say it's been 3 years and you haven't made much progress?

Well I started playing guitar at 13 or 14 and I'm 20 now and I still suck. Some people are just slow learners or perhaps you're not using the right practice method. I dunno
