Greetings humans,
I got an email from a guy saying that the site graphics are too bright and a bit outdated.
He thinks it should look something a little more like this
What do you all think? Is he crazy in the coconut or does he have a good point? The options are as follows.
Keep the site the way it is.
Update the graphics as suggested above.
Update the site but do something completely different with it.
Go!

The grey theme that is linked in the OP is not very cohesive. They grey color just comes out of nowhere and is at odds with the green. For grey to work, grey would have to be the central theme.
I don't know if I'm for a whole new look, but skins that are changeable under user profile/preferences would be cool.

or "Official Gametabs Channel" we can post some recordings, tutorials ? (or just recording with tabs & slowing it down?), riff challenge winner video, Tune contest winner video (mp3 + picture is good too), some collabs ! i always thought it would be cool to make some collective works =) we can even post some mp3 arrangements or medley (or ricordings if we record them) etc etc
just something to show the comunauty ^^

I thought collabs would be nice too. I'd even be tempted to break out my drums for that. Yeah, putting a YT channel together would be pretty hot though.

This may not be the brightest of ideas considering the legal gray area of tablature but what about trying to get interviews with game composers? Would it be possible? Is that something anyone would care to read?
Sorry I know this is off topic but I just thought while we were throwing out site suggestions I'd put that out there.

I think similar colors to this would make more sense than what was in the OP. The top, bottom, and the logo text could be improved a lot, though, I think.

Little exemple of a medley i just did with GP6 (drums are not my speciality ^^')
I plan to do something with FFIII too... I tryed with FFIV, i failed ^^'
I know there are many good composers here who can make some cool medly or arrangements to make collabs with =)
(but everyone is buzy with is own personal stuff...)

The first link ash posted is not very aesthetically pleasing. if you're going to change the color of the banner because it is too bright, why not change the sidebar to grey too like natemmn did? I like the green alot, but I wouldn't mind switching to nates version either.

I think it should stay green because it goes with the rest of the site.
But i wouldnt mind a Banner change to fit the theme of the site a little better.
